The renowned Nollywood and multi-award actress, Rita Dominic born as Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Waturuocha on 12 July 1975 in Nigeria. She is the youngest of four siblings. She is a member of the Royal Waturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise local government area in Imo State. She won the City People Awards in 2004 as the Most Outstanding Actress. She has starred in over 100 Nollywood productions. She also starred in the 2007 sports drama film, White Waters, which received 12 nominations and won 4 awards at the 4th African Movie Academy Awards. 3. Her late parents were medical practitioners; her father was a medical doctor and her mother a nursing officer.

4. She attended the prestigious Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

5. She holds a BA (Honours) Degree in Theatre Arts in 1999 from the University of Harcourt.

6. She started performing when she was a child, appearing in school plays and children’s television shows in Imo State. In 1998 she starred in her first movie, A Time to Kill.

7. She was nominated as the Movie Actress of the Year at the 2014 ELOY Awards. He also won the Best Actress in a Comedy for the film, The Meeting, at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
