A lot of brilliant students nowadays fail as a result of ineffective studies. There is a common saying that he who fails to plan plans to fail. This is very true especially in the academic field. A lot of students at different levels get average passes or outrightly fail some courses, simply because many find it hard to study in the way that they would love to. Being something has to start with a habit, which becomes a character before it gets to affect your life either negatively or positively. Hence, if you are not getting the results you crave for in the aspect of studying, it is time to change some habits and imbibe new ones.

Here are a few habits which would help you study more effectively.

1. Take responsibility for yourself:

This is the very first and probably the most important habit. You need to recognize that in order to succeed you need to make decisions about your priorities,  your time, and your resources

2. Center yourself around your values and principles:

Be a human on and of your own. Set out your own values and principles and follow them. Don’t let friends and acquaintances dictate what you consider important

3. Put first things first:

Learn the art of recognizing what is important and what is not. Calmly take those decisions and act accordingly, giving your attention to the most important first. Follow up on the priorities you have set for yourself, and don’t let others, or other interests, distract you from your goals

4. Discover your key productivity periods and places:

It is good to know your strengths and weaknesses, as well as the times you experience these. Morning, afternoon, or evening?
Find spaces where you can be the most focused and productive.
Prioritize these for your most difficult study challenges.
