Singer Konga Accuses Burna Boy of Copying His Lyrics, Requests a Feature

Nigerian singer Lawal Olalekan Olumo, popularly known as Konga, has publicly accused his colleague Burna Boy of copying his lyrics. In a recently released video, Konga shared evidence to back his claims, posting side-by-side clips of his own song and Burna Boy’s track, where he alleges the Last Last crooner lifted parts of his work.

Konga Confronts Burna Boy Over Alleged Song Theft

Konga, known for his hit Baby Konga, stated that Burna Boy has been influenced by his music and style. However, rather than demanding financial compensation, Konga expressed that all he wants in return is a collaboration.

In his video, Konga said:

“It’s clear Burna loves my vibes. All I’m asking is for him to acknowledge it and let’s work together on a remix.”

The singer also revealed his plans to feature both Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage on his upcoming song Kabakaba.

Burna Boy and Song Sampling Controversy

This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has faced accusations of sampling other artists’ work. In the past, he notably sampled Toni Braxton’s song in Last Last, later bringing her on stage as a guest.

While Burna Boy has yet to respond to Konga’s claims, the situation has reignited debates about artistic originality and sampling in the Nigerian music industry.

As fans wait to see if Burna Boy will acknowledge Konga’s request, the incident highlights how older-generation Nigerian artists are seeking recognition for their contributions to the industry.
