Wizkid and Reekado Banks Reconcile After Four-Year Feud

Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Reekado Banks appear to have settled their long-standing beef after being spotted dining together at a Lagos establishment on February 24, 2025. The two were seen enjoying a meal alongside rapper Shallipopi, suggesting that they have moved past their 2020 fallout.

The 2020 Feud

Fans will recall that Wizkid and Reekado Banks had a public falling out in 2020 when Wizkid called Reekado a “clout animal” after he announced the release of their collaboration in the middle of the #EndSARS protests. Wizkid, who was actively advocating against police brutality, criticized Reekado for promoting music at such a sensitive time. As a result, their collaboration was scrapped, with Reekado later releasing the song without Wizkid’s verse.

A New Beginning?

Four years later, their recent public outing suggests that they have buried the hatchet. Fans are now speculating whether this reconciliation could lead to the eventual release of the long-lost collaboration, which many had hoped to hear.

Wizkid’s 2025 Plans

Since December 2024, Wizkid has been spending time in Nigeria, where he performed at several Detty December concerts. His visit followed the release of his sixth studio album, Morayo, named after his late mother. The project was met with massive success, breaking streaming records and reaffirming Wizkid’s influence in the Afrobeats scene.

Looking ahead, the Grammy-winning artist is set for a busy 2025, having already announced the first dates for his upcoming Morayo tour. Fans will be eagerly watching to see if his renewed friendship with Reekado Banks leads to new music collaborations in the near future.
