DJ Cuppy Claps Back at Critics Over Age-Shaming Comments

Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress, DJ Cuppy, has responded to critics who referred to her as “old” after she revealed she is 32 years old. Taking to X on March 11, 2025, the entertainer shut down the age-shaming remarks, emphasizing that she is still young.
She wrote, “I am 32 years old, and some of you people are calling me old. If that is the case, what are we calling people in their 40s? Prehistoric? Fossilized? Museum exhibits? Nawa.”
Cuppy’s response sparked various reactions on social media, with many fans offering words of encouragement while others criticized her for engaging with trolls.
Popular social media personality Daniel Regha weighed in on the matter, stating, “Cuppy, you are always letting people get under your skin with the age and relationship talks. You are simply enabling the trolls by being bothered. People will talk regardless of what you say, so pay less attention and focus on what really matters, like the unkept promises you made some years back to help students through the Cuppy Foundation.”
While some critics believed she should ignore the negative comments, others supported her stance, pointing out the double standards in societal views on aging. One user noted, “It’s surprising how quickly we label a 32-year-old woman as ‘old’ but call a 32-year-old man ‘young.'”
Another user encouraged Cuppy, saying, “Live your life unapologetically. People will always talk. Age is just a number, but confidence is timeless. Own your journey, embrace your growth, and let the world watch you shine!”
Others found humor in the discourse, with one fan joking, “You are not old as a person; you are just old enough to be married with kids, that’s all.”
Despite the backlash, many supporters rallied behind Cuppy, asserting that 32 is still a prime age, far from being considered “old.” One fan summed it up best, writing, “32 is prime time, not prehistoric! You’re slaying it, and age is just a number.”
