10 Things You Didn’t Know About Yaw
Yaw was born with the name of Steve Onu in Lagos, Nigeria. He was born into a family of 10 children. He is a Nigerian radio personality, actor, comedian and all round entertainer. The host of the popular early morning talk programme “Make Una Wake” has starred in over 50 stage plays both in the UK and in Nigeria. He has definitely brought some intelligence and humour to the Nigerian entertainment industry.

1. Yaw was born with the name of Steve Onu in Lagos, Nigeria. He was born into a family of 10 children.
2. He holds a Diploma in Radio, Television and Film Production from the Lagos State University in 1996 and obtained a Degree in Theater Arts, majoring in Theater Marketing in 2000.
3. He has over 14 years of experience and has worked with BBC and has been starred in a number of soap opera including soapies like Twilight Zone, Flatemates, Dear Mother and Fuji House of Commotion.
4. He has starred in over 50 stage plays both in the UK and Nigeria.
5. He has worked with prominent directors like Binda Ngazolo, Ben Tomoloju, Ahmed Yerima and Dr Sola Fosudo to name a few.
6. Before making it to the entertainment scene, he was once a bus conductor. He started his radio presenting job at Wazobia FM in 2007, working as a morning on-air radio personality.
7. He is also a cast of the award-winning Pidgin English radio drama called “Story Story” by the British Broadcasting Cooperation.
8. Since joining the Nigerian Radio Station in 2007, he has won 7 awards as the Best On-Air Personality.
9. He mentioned in an interview that he draws his inspiration from God and society.
