The Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter; Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru was born on 22 January in Kaduna State, Nigeria. He is known for his musical mix of genres and his applauding fusion of sounds to form a unique blend of rap, hip hop and afrobeats. He is the creative director of LRR Records and has become the only hip hop artist in all of Africa to have an album debut on Billboard Charts World Music category at number 12. There is no doubt that Reminisce is a musical icon amongst today’s youth and an internationally recognized artiste.

1. Reminisce was born as Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru on 22 January in Kaduna State, Nigeria.
2. His stage name, Reminisce means to indulge in the enjoyable recollection of the past events and the first four letters are a shortened form of the name Remilekun.
3. He developed his rapping skills by emulating rappers like Jay Z, Nas and Snoop Dogg.
4. He studied a degree in Purchasing and Supply from the Kwara State University.
5. He is the brand ambassador for Samsung and for a popular herb and liquor cocktail produced by Diageo Plc in Africa called Orijin.
6. He was discovered by producer ID Cabasa which also discovered other Nigerian musicians like Olamide, Jahbless, Lord of Ajasa and 9ice.
7. He is signed to Edge Records and is also the founder and creative director of LRR Records.
8. In 2014, TIME Magazine named him as one of seven “World Rappers You Should Meet” and was also mention as one of the top three hip hop artists of 2014.
