Allegations of vote rigging in Nigeria’s rive state
the presidential and legislative elections which were held in Nigeria the past weekend were marred with violence.
The opposition is already crying foul in the river state by already raising the issue vote rigging.
As if that is not enough, Nigerians voted this weekend in at a very tense atmosphere considering the threat by Boko Haram in the north of the country. But before the polling stations could close the opposition was already speaking of vote rigging in the rich river state.
The APC lead by the muslim Mohamed Buhari has accused the members of the party which is led by Goodluck Jonathan to be responsible for the violence which led to the death of it’s many mambers.
There was a number of people who started to gather around the offices of the Electoral commission in Port-harcourt calling for new elections. These people had gathered illegally and the police fired on them.
The party belonging to Mr Jonathan also complained that the opposition allowed people below the voting age to vote so as to increase its numbers.
There were some technical problems:
1. some places received their voting materials late
2. some people didn’t know how to use the material
3.some offices were closed on saturday
let is hope that this will not cause any trouble in country and this will lead to peacefull outcome
