12 reasons why sex before marriage is the good thing to do

12 reasons why sex before marriage is the good thing to do

  1. A big majority of people have sex before marriage;

There are a few people who can claim chastity on their wedding day. I can’t speak for the generations before this current one, but what we can say is that this current generation has a lot of people unable to keep their legs closed or the pants up. Everyone talks about virginity but where are the virgins?

  1. People with active sex lives live longer

Sex is a form of exercise, it increases blood flow, and gets your heart pumping, and most people would rather do it instead of doing some rounds at the gym. Sex releases stress, boosts immunities, helps you sleep and get a healthy heart.

  1. Having sex is better than riches or wealth.

Ask any African man or woman to have his genitals removed for wealth, the majority will tell you to keep your money. They understand the value of sex. It is a deeply spiritual thing.

  1. Waitinguntil marriage often means both early marriage and conservative views on marriage

It is good to teach abstinence, these are values which are also important for the social fabric of our societies to remain solid.  Everyone needs to live and let live. Meaning we must respect those who choose the alternative.

  1. Most adult human beings naturally desire sex

Sexual desires are natural desires, show me a person who claims not to have those desires, and I will show you a liar.

  1. Having consensual sex which is focused on mutual satisfaction – is part of being an ethical, responsible human being.

Of course sex is a very selfish act, it takes skills and care to focus on not only achieving your climax but it takes a selfless person to focus on their partner.  An ethical person doesn’t just care for themselves but for their partner, an American president said:

My fellow ethical “human beings”, ask not what your “sexual partner” can do for you, ask what you can do for your “sexual partner”.

  1. But our problem with sex isn’t that we’re having it before marriage; it’s that we’ve cast it as shameful and dirty

Sex is a natural and beautiful thing, we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about it. Within African culture it is considered taboo to even mention it around children. The truth is, children are having it. People treat sex like a dirty and shameful thing, whereas it is part of our existence, it is not the forbidden fruit; it is on the contrary the tree of life, the source of life, the bread of life, the joy of life, the reason for life, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

  1. Sexual morality isn’t about how long you wait. It’s about how you treat yourself and the people you’re with.

We need to value ourselves and those around us.  Sexual morality isn’t about how long we wait; it’s about respecting those around you. How can you disrespect those around you if the only thing you eat is “the bread of life”? Sexual morality is about protecting, caring and healing.

  1. Cultural views of premarital sex has moral short comings

Couples have difficulties to engage real discussions about their sexual needs and desires. These difficulties are found in couples before and after marrying. It is much easier for them to talk about their religious values, the names for their children. The fear is that talking about sex will lead to sex.

  1. Sex is good whether you’re married or not, and certainly folks who wait until marriage can have a lot of sex once they tie the knot.

As mentioned above, sex has lots of benefit. That is why young people pursuit it with all their might; old people miss it so much when they are unable to have it anymore. For those who waited until marriage, it is advisable to have it as much as possible for the rest of your lives.

  1. Sex isn’t the only ideals that make better human beings

Boys are trained to think that what makes them good men are ethical ideals and women are taught that their “ moral compass lies somewhere between our legs” ,  could it be why it is easier for man to rap?

  1. Marriage?

Is marriage for everyone?  Let us be realistic, it is not given to everyone to be married, some people are meant to be remain single. Society puts lots of pressure on people so that they marry.  The truth is, just as some are doctors, others lawyers and writers.  The same also applies in other aspects of life, others will get married and some will not.

Look at the world around you; judge others by using yourself as reference. You might just see reality. This isn’t an advocacy for sex before marriage; it is just what it is. If you don’t get it, tough luck, just go drink from “the source of life”.
