Azania Jazz Co. Returns with New Studio Album ‘What Africa?’
South Africa’s Azania Jazz Co. has released What Africa?, an ambitious 13-track album that marks their third full release in 2026 alongside Afro Jazz Nights and Between Africa’s Rivers.
The cover art sets a distinct tone, showing a figure wearing traditional pattern attire topped with a static-filled analog television set. Musically, the release merges energetic house music grooves with brass arrangements and familiar gospel chord progressions.
The album contains 13 tracks, including “Free at Last, Broke at Last”, “Constitution”, “Helicopter”, “Prosperity Gospel”, “Another Church?”, “Cold Drink”, “Door to Door”, “Madlanga”, “Xenophobia”, “Abahambe!”, “Mhondoro”, and “Nashi Nashi”. The release maintains a focused, mysterious air without revealing granular backstories for each song title.
What Africa? is out now across all digital streaming networks.
