Tips to reduce inflammation in your body

While you may not notice any changes at first, inflammation in your body slowly damages and weakens your bodily functions. Inflammation, or swelling, is important to a certain extent as it is your body’s natural responses to fighting off illness, infection and injury. However, sometimes your body goes into inflammation without any cause, and the mechanism that is innately designed to protect you, turns out to damage your bodily functions and organs such as your joins and arteries. 

In the long run, this can severely damage your body without you getting any heads up. Alzheimer’s, heart diseases, cancer – all are results of chronic inflammation in the human body. Our daily routine, our lifestyle, the food we eat, the amount we sleep – everything has an impact on the promotion or prevention of chronic inflammation in our body, and one can reduce inflammation by adhering to the following tips:

  1. Eat a lot of anti-inflammatory foods

Fresh vegetables and fresh fruits make a lot of difference in your bodily health once you include them in your diet. By reducing your sugar intake as well, you can ensure that you prevent inflammation in your body significantly. Foods that are anti-inflammatory include grapes, olive oil, garlic and blueberries. Seafood that is anti-inflammatory includes salmon and tuna. You should also consider limiting red meat, eggs, unnecessary carbs, and foods that contain trans fats. Also, anything that contains high fructose corn syrup is a big NO-NO.

  1. Exercise a lot

Exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle does wonders for your overall health, and it is no different when it comes to reducing inflammation. You should consider indulging in a physical activity five days a week for almost 20-30 minutes per day. Whether you wish to practice aerobics, or jog in a park – that is completely up to you. Whatever may be your medium, physical activity and exertion should be a conscious choice in your life. When you combine regular exercise with a good diet, you create a perfect fighter combination for your body to reduce inflammation.

  1. Manage stress levels

Chronic stress contributes to inflammation in your body. In today’s fast paced lives, individuals experience stress at record levels. Whether it is related to one’s academics, personal or professional lives – stress is a reality that all people need to deal with proactively. You can meditate or perform yoga to reduce stress levels.
