Court Fires NFF Boss Amaju Pinnick and Replaces Him Immediately

The president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been sacked in a high court in Jos with Chris Giwa now placed as the boss of the federation.The High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria on Friday April 8 have nullified the elections that brought Pinnick as president as well as other board members of the NFF.

The court ruled in favor of Giwa and instructed the Federal Government of Nigeria to recognize him as the president of the NFF.

Another hearing has been fixed for Saturday, April 30 but Pinnick has been asked by the High Court to vacate the office of the NFF president pending the final hearing.

There had been aa pending court case presided over by Justice Ambrose Allagoa of the Federal High Court in Jos who nullified the Warri General Assembly and the subsequent Elective Congress that elected the faction of the NFF led by Maju Pinnick.

 

On Friday 8th April, Justice Musa Haruna Kurya in the ancient city of Jos granted the prayers of the plaintiffs, Yahaya Adama and Senator Obinna Ogba, to not  only relist the suit in the tussle of the leadership of the NFF, but also sustained all the previous orders of the court effectively making Ambassador Chris Giwa the head of the federation until the final determination of the suit.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday January 20,Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa almost came to blows at the National Stadium package B where a peace meeting was called by Youth and Sports Minister Solomon Dalung.

Though the meeting was called to settle the leadership crises going on, it ended in deadlock. The minister however told reporters that the meeting would be reconvened.
