10 Things You Didn’t Know About DJ Xclusive
The British born DJ, recording artist and record producer, DJ Xclusive was born as Rotimi Alakija on 16 October in the United Kingdom to Nigerian parents. He is the nephew to Nigerian businesswoman, Folorunsho Alakija. He won the World Best DJ award at the 2010 Nigeria Entertainment Awards held in the United States. In 2011, he became the resident DJ for CoolFM 96.9 and also joined Empire Mates Entertainment as Wizkid’s official DJ. The handsome British DJ has definitely paved a successful career for himself both in Nigeria and in the international entertainment industry.

1. DJ Xclusive was born as Rotimi Alakija on 16 October in the United Kingdom to Nigerian parents.
2. He moved back to Nigeria to complete his secondary education at King’s College in Lagos. He is the nephew to Nigerian businesswoman, Folorunsho Alakija.
3. He later then moved back to the UK to complete his tertiary education, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and Computer Science at the Reading University.
4. He later studied Financial Computing at the Brunnel University, which earned him a Bachelor’s Degree.
5. He commenced with professional DJ in 2003 by performing at various clubs including Penthouse, Jalouse, Aura Mayfair and Funky Buddha.
6. He has worked with prominent entertainment stars like Nas, Rihanna, Fat Joe, Ne-Yo, Mario Winans, Wizkid and Brick & Lace to mention a few.
7. He won the World Best DJ award at the 2010 Nigeria Entertainment Awards held in the United States.
8. He was nominated for Best DJ at the 2011 edition of the Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television Awards (BEFFTA Awards).
9. He released a single “I’m Xclusive” alongside renowned UK-Nigerian artist Mo Eazy. He was also featured at the 2013 Big Brother House Party.
