The Good Morning Nigeria radio presenter and co-host on Discovery 234, Emmanuel Mannie Essien was born on 26 March 1977 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria to a retired principal, Mr. Obong Jo. The former Nigerian actor and singer released his debut single in 2015 titled “Moving On” which featured DJ Andromeda and Ray Ramon which topped many music and radio charts both locally and internationally. The 39-years-old versatile artist has surely paved a successful career for himself in the entertainment industry.

1. Emmanuel Mannie Essien was born on 26 March 1977 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria to a retired principal, Mr. Obong Jo. He is the last born of six siblings. He was raised in many parts of Nigeria including Gombe and Bauchi State.
2. His father was the first provost of the institution of higher learning, NTTC Gombe between the years of 1978 to 1987. He completed his primary education at Auntie Margaret International School in 1989 in Calabar.
3. He holds a Degree in Linguistics from the University of Calabar in 2003.
4. During his childhood days he competed in talent competitions like the Golden Tones with Benson and Hedges and the first Project Fame in 2004, representing Nigeria in South Africa.
5. He later got employed as a producer at Cool FM and went on to produce shows like “Radio Sweepers” and “Station IDs” for Nigeria info FM, Wazobia FM and Cool FM.
6. He is a voice over artist and audio jingle producer for top brands like Coca-Cola, FCMB, MTN and Chicken Republic.
7. He is married to Grace Edewede Essien and they are blessed with two beautiful children named Michael and Eleanor.
8. He is currently signed to Rayramon Records Australia and released his debut single titled “Moving On” which featured Ray Ramon and DJ Andromeda. The single has topped many music charts in the UK, Nigeria and Australia.
9. In 2014, his show “Good Morning Nigeria” was awarded with the Most Outstanding Radio Show award by the Nigerian Broadcaster Merit Awards.
