The gorgeous Nigerian actress, producer, director and filmmaker, Fathia Williams Balogun was born on 5 February 1969 in Delta State, Nigeria. She recently won the Best Indigenous Language: Yoruba award for the work done in the film, Iya Alalake at the 2015 Africa-Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards AMVCA. The beautiful 46-years-old actress has definitely paved a successful path for herself in the Nigerian entertainment scene.

1. Fathia Williams Balogun was born on 5 February 1969 in Delta State, Nigeria. She was born into a polygamous family of nine.

2. She completed her primary and secondary education at Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive High School in Lagos, Nigeria.

3. She obtained the West African School Certificate before she proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic where she received a diploma certificate.

4. In 2008, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for the Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie “Iranse Aje” won the best indigenous film of the year.

5. In 2014, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award, having emerged as best actress of the year along with Odunlade Adekola who emerged as best actor of the year.

6. She also won the Best Indigenous Language: Yoruba award for the work done in the film, Iya Alalake at the 2015 Africa-Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards AMVCA.

7. She has featured in a number of Yoruba and Nollywood films; one of her popular film is “Yemoja” where she played the role of a river goddess.

8. She was formerly married to the veteran Nollywood actor, Saheed Balogun.
