2Face Idibia Appointed Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach to Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State
Nigerian music icon 2Face Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has been appointed as the Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach to Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State. The announcement was made during a visit by the legendary singer to the Government House in Makurdi, where Governor Alia expressed his gratitude for the singer’s continued support for his administration.
Governor Alia praised 2Face for his unwavering endorsement of his bid for the 2027 gubernatorial elections and highlighted the singer’s significant contributions to the state. The Governor emphasized that 2Face’s experience and influence in the entertainment industry make him an ideal choice for this new role, adding that the state will greatly benefit from his leadership and advice.
The Governor stated, “Let me thank you very firstly for supporting my administration and for proclaiming me for 2027. I feel it will not be out of place at all, because you are a guru of entertainment. Once you say ‘2Face,’ people start dancing, even without you singing. Given your experience and influence, we believe you can help us impact more lives positively.”
He continued, “On behalf of the state government and our very good people, I want to give you some more responsibility, plus the ones you have been doing, because you have the capacity to do some more and help us chart the way forward to improve other people’s lives and to gain more from your wisdom and advisement as well. So, I’m pleased to announce that we will make you a technical advisor to the governor on entertainment and community outreach.”
2Face, hailing from Okpokwu Local Government Area in the Benue South Senatorial District, has long been a strong supporter of the state’s initiatives. His appointment comes as a recognition of his influence not only in the music world but also within his community and the country at large.
In a related event earlier in the week, 2Face introduced his fiancée, Hon. Natasha Osawaru, a legislator from Edo State, to the Idoma traditional leadership and his native community in Benue State. The traditional introduction took place on April 21, 2025, during the Idoma Nation Peace and Unity Symposium at the Och’Idoma Palace in Otukpo. Dressed in traditional Idoma attire, 2Face presented Natasha to the Och’Idoma V and other local dignitaries, symbolizing a significant moment in the singer’s life and connection to his roots.
Following the palace event, the couple traveled to Okpokwu, 2Face’s ancestral home, where they met with elders and community members. During the visit, 2Face sought the elders’ blessings for his union with Natasha, reaffirming his commitment to both his family and his community.
