The British-Nigerian actor and producer, David Oyetokunbo Oyelowo was born on 1st April 1976 in Oxford, England to Nigerian parents. He first impressed audiences on the stage when he starred in The Suppliants at the Gate Theatre playing King Palasgus, for which he received the Ian Charleson award commendation. He won the Royal Television Society Award for Best Actor and also the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture.
