Gilmore Defends Content Creation as a Legitimate Source of Income
In recent discussions surrounding the lucrative lifestyle of social media content creators, Nigerian digital creator Gilmore has come forward to challenge the skepticism that questions the authenticity of their earnings. During a recent interview with HIPTV, Gilmore made it clear that the financial gains associated with content creation are legitimate and stem from hard work.
Content creation, often perceived by some as an easy or effortless career path, requires significant dedication. Gilmore highlighted this, saying, “It is, I don’t think anyone can be doing content creating and being on set, making and editing videos and can still be doing anything else people think they’re doing. How many hours do we have in a day? Is it that easy to go to baba’s place? It’s not even easy to go to any baba’s place. So it’s all content creation.”
The HIPTV interview also explored doubts regarding whether income from content creation alone could fund luxury items such as high-end cars and real estate in upscale neighborhoods like Banana Island. Responding to these doubts, Gilmore assured that the industry does indeed provide opportunities for substantial, legitimate earnings when creators know how to maximize their reach and leverage the digital space.
“Who has a house in Banana Island? I feel like information is key so what you don’t know, you don’t. It’s until you’re in it that you’d understand that it’s possible to make legit money from content creation,” Gilmore said.
He emphasized that understanding the nuances of digital platforms is essential for success, particularly in today’s world where people are more inclined to consume media content online than on traditional TV. “We’re in a world filled with information; we’re in 2024 where everyone is on their phones and nobody even watches TV like that anymore,” Gilmore pointed out. “You just have to know how to tap into the media. Money didn’t make me start content creation but money comes through when you don’t force it.”
Gilmore’s remarks underline that while skepticism may remain, content creation can be a fruitful and entirely legitimate career path. His message serves as an encouragement for those in or entering the field to stay committed and leverage their skills for financial success.
