Cynthia Morgan Opens Up About Her Relationship with Burna Boy
Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has shared the real reason why she has distanced herself from Grammy award-winning artist Burna Boy. In a candid Instagram post, the Benin-born singer and songwriter revealed that the Afrobeats superstar is likely still upset with her over an old issue dating back to 2016.
The controversy began when Uju Stella, a woman who claimed to have been impregnated by Burna Boy, made headlines with her accusations. At the time, Cynthia Morgan believed the story, and it caused a rift between her and Burna Boy. Cynthia has now explained that while she wishes Burna Boy all the best, she has chosen not to reach out to him, as she believes he is still angry over her belief in Uju Stella’s allegations.
In her post, Cynthia wrote, “For those of you sending me messages to reach out to Burna Boy, I won’t. If it was me, I would reach out but he probably still mad I didn’t believe he didn’t impregnate Uju Stella in 2016. That’s what most men do.” She continued, “They lie and get mad when you don’t believe them… something he finally admitted to online 8 years later.”
Despite the past tension, Cynthia expressed that she holds no ill will toward Burna Boy, ending her message with, “Ya all leave me alone. All the best, Damini…”
In 2015, Cynthia Morgan had confirmed in an interview with HIP TV that she and Burna Boy were very good friends. The two even had a music video together for Cynthia’s single Simatiniya, where Burna Boy played her love interest. At the time, a picture of them kissing on the lips circulated, which Cynthia confirmed was “very real.”
While the past may have been filled with drama, Cynthia Morgan now seems focused on her own journey, choosing to keep her distance from Burna Boy as she moves forward.
