Davido Credits Wife Chioma for Inspiring His New Album ‘5IVE’

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has revealed that his wife, Chioma Rowland Adeleke, played a pivotal role in the creation of his latest studio album, 5IVE. In a recent podcast episode, the singer expressed deep appreciation for Chioma’s unwavering support during the recording process, describing her presence as a driving force behind the album’s success.

According to Davido, Chioma was constantly by his side in the studio, ensuring he stayed motivated and focused on completing the project. He noted that her love, care, and encouragement provided the energy he needed to produce what has now become one of his most talked-about albums.

Released on April 18, 2025, 5IVE is a 17-track body of work that showcases Davido’s versatility and global reach. The album features a rich blend of collaborations with international stars including Grammy winner Victoria Monét, Chris Brown, Becky G, and Nigerian sensations such as Chike, ODUMODUBLVCK, Omah Lay, and Victony.

Tracks like “Offa Me,” “Titanium,” and “With You” have already made significant chart impressions, with 16 songs from the album entering the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart. The project debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard World Albums chart, earning 7,000 equivalent album units in its first tracking week.

Davido also shared that Chioma’s personal favorite track from the album is “10 Kilo,” further highlighting her connection to the project.
