Davido Drops New Single Ahead of His Highly Anticipated Album ‘5ive’

Nigerian music superstar Davido has kicked off 2025 with a bang, announcing his latest single on February 26, 2025, through a post on his social media account. The track, officially released on March 14, delivers an energetic Amapiano log drum fusion infused with a blend of pidgin and English, reaffirming Davido’s dominance in the industry.

This release serves as a prelude to his forthcoming fifth studio album, 5ive, which is set to drop on April 18. Fans eagerly await the project, especially after the success of his previous album, Timeless, which shattered multiple records.

2025 has already proven to be a milestone year for the singer, who secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammy Awards. He earned recognition in the Best African Song Performance category for his contribution to Chris Brown’s hit song Sensational. Davido’s influence continues to expand, as he also bagged five nominations at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, including the prestigious Artist of the Year title.

In the lead-up to 5ive, Davido has treated fans to two singles—Awuke, featuring Jamaican Dancehall star YG Marley, and Funds, a collaboration with Chike and OdumoduBlvck. The album is expected to feature more high-profile collaborations, including a much-anticipated track with Nigerian singer Omah Lay. In a recent interview, Omah Lay described their collaboration as a perfect blend of their unique styles.

Adding to the excitement, Afropop sensation Adekunle Gold has hinted at a possible feature on the album, further raising expectations for what could be another groundbreaking release for Davido. The singer himself has described 5ive as a deeply personal project, promising fans an album straight from the heart.

As the countdown to April 18 begins, all eyes are on Davido to see how 5ive will shape the next chapter of his already illustrious career.
