The New York concert follows a series of promotional events, including an album listening party in Nigeria and an appearance on Santi’s live stream, where Davido explained the inspiration behind the album title.
A Busy Year for Davido
2025 has already been an eventful year for Davido. He secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammy Awards, earning a nod for Best African Song Performance for his contribution to Chris Brown’s Sensational. He also received five nominations at the upcoming 17th Headies, where he is in contention for Artist of the Year, further cementing his status as one of the most decorated artists in the award’s history.
New Music Ahead of 5ive
Ahead of the album release on April 18, Davido has already dropped two singles—Awuke, featuring Jamaican Dancehall star YG Marley, and Funds, featuring Chike and OdumoduBlvck. Recently, he also released Be There Still, an uptempo track that fuses Amapiano log drum rhythms with a blend of English and Pidgin.
5ive is expected to include a star-studded lineup of features, with Nigerian sensation Omah Lay confirming his contribution to what he described as a “perfect partnership.” Additionally, Adekunle Gold has hinted at a possible guest appearance on the album.
Fans are eagerly awaiting 5ive, which Davido has described as a project “straight from the heart.” With high expectations following the success of his record-breaking fourth album, Timeless, all eyes are on Davido as he prepares to deliver yet another major milestone in his career.
