Davido to Headline 2025 Summerjam Festival with Vybez Kartel, Prepares for New Album Release
Nigerian superstar Davido is set to take the stage as one of the headliners for the 2025 Summerjam Festival in Germany, alongside Jamaican reggae icon Vybez Kartel. The festival, scheduled for June 4-6, 2025, promises to be a star-studded event with a mix of global talent, including notable Jamaican artists such as Beenie Man, Morgan Heritage, and Beenie Man. Davido’s inclusion is a major highlight for fans of African music, as he follows the footsteps of Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, who headlined the festival the previous year.
For Davido, 2025 is already shaping up to be an exciting year. The 5-time Grammy nominee is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated album, 5ive, which is set to drop on April 18, 2025. With 17 tracks, the album mirrors the length of his previous four studio albums. In a recent social media post, the singer described 5ive as a deeply personal project, one that comes “straight from the heart.”
As part of the buildup to the album, Davido has already released two singles: “Awuke,” a collaboration with Jamaican dancehall sensation YG Marley, and “Funds,” featuring Nigerian artists Chike and OdumoduBlvck. His fans are also looking forward to a potential collaboration with Nigerian sensation Omah Lay, with both artists expressing excitement about their musical chemistry. In addition, Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold teased a possible guest appearance on the album, further fueling anticipation for 5ive.
Before his headlining performance at Summerjam, Davido is also preparing for his participation at the 17th Headies Awards, where he will be competing in six categories, including the prestigious Artist of the Year award.
