Davido’s Upcoming Album ‘5ive’ Pushed to April 18, 2025

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has delayed the release of his highly anticipated album 5ive, originally scheduled for March 15, 2025, to April 18. While he has not provided a reason for the postponement, fans remain eager for the project, which promises to be a deeply personal body of work.

A Busy Year for Davido

The year 2025 has already been eventful for the singer. He secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammy Awards, earning a nod for Best African Song Performance for his feature on Chris Brown’s Sensational. Additionally, Davido has been nominated in five categories, including Artist of the Year, at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards.

Album Build-Up: Singles and Collaborations

In anticipation of 5ive, Davido has already dropped two singles: Awuke, featuring Jamaican dancehall artist YG Marley, and Funds, a collaboration with Nigerian artists Chike and OdumoduBlvck.

When announcing his album, Davido described it as a project “straight from the heart,” symbolizing his growth and truth. He also reassured fans that they wouldn’t have to wait too long for new music, releasing Funds as a preview of what’s to come.

5ive is expected to feature some major collaborations, including a highly anticipated track with Nigerian star Omah Lay. Omah Lay has described the song as a “perfect partnership,” heightening anticipation. Additionally, Adekunle Gold recently hinted at a possible feature on the album, further fueling excitement among fans.

Davido’s previous album, Timeless, broke records and solidified his status as one of Africa’s biggest global stars.
