MR EAZI TURNS UP THE HEAT WITH HIS LATEST SUMMER RELEASE
Mr Eazi is about to turn up the dial to sweltering this summer with his latest release, Life is Eazi Vol. II: Lagos to London.
The 13-track mixtape is a follow-up to Life is Eazi Vol. 1: Accra to Lagos, the sophomore studio offering featuring lead single Leg Over a favourite of Travis Scott and Diplo. And has since become the go-to collaborator for a range of top billing acts such as South African R&B it girl Shekhinah’s Suited and English drum ‘n bass set, Rudimental’s Let Me Live, whose video was shot in Jozi.
Life is Eazi Vol. II: Lagos to London will be released through Apple Music, where Mr Eazi’s international recording artist profile began to take shape two years ago after landing on Apple Music’s prime playlists. He appeared on Beats1 radio and in July 2016, became the face of Apple Music’s Up Next global new artist campaign which counts names like 6lack, and Khalid as alumni.
The new mixtape is an exercise in Afro fusion and inter-cultural collaboration as Mr Eazi brings in heavy guns from South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe and Jamaica to serve the world stage via the United Kingdom.
Among the many sublime offerings are hits-in-waiting including a love call with Burna Boy and a club banger with Mi Casa’s Mo T. Dancehall enthusiasts will also recognise the revival of iconic Jamaican doyen Sister Nancy’s Bam Bam. The varied production features beat masters from Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria and the UK.
Says Mr Eazi, “This project is important to me because it’s a personal take on my journey over the last year. I want to take my fans and listeners on a sonic trip from Lagos To London, sharing the sound and artists that have been a part of this trip. It’s been great to bring my culture to the streets of the UK who knows where we will go next? For now get on board the bus and take this journey with me.”
