Timini Egbuson’s Reel Love Dominates Nigerian Box Office, Grosses Over ₦300 Million

Nollywood has been set ablaze by Reel Love, the romantic drama that has taken the industry by storm. The film, marking actor and filmmaker Timini Egbuson’s cinematic debut, has officially grossed a staggering ₦303 million, maintaining its position as the highest-grossing Nollywood film for five consecutive weeks.

Distributed by FilmOne, Reel Love continues to draw audiences, with the company celebrating the milestone in an Instagram post.

The film tells a captivating tale of romance, heartbreak, and redemption, resonating deeply with audiences. Upon release, the film made an explosive debut, grossing ₦40.5 million on its first day, making it Nollywood’s second-highest opening after Funke Akindele’s Everybody Loves Jenifa. Over its first weekend, Reel Love amassed ₦99.2 million, securing the top spot in cinemas nationwide. By its third weekend, it had crossed the ₦200 million mark, with total earnings reaching ₦224.9 million.

Now at ₦303 million and counting, the film is well on its way to becoming one of the highest-grossing Nollywood titles of the year. With its current momentum, it may even break more records in the coming weeks.

Directed by Kayode Kasum, Reel Love features a stellar cast, including Funke Akindele, Dakore Akande, Muyiwa Ademola, Shaffy Bello, Bimbo Ademoye, Efa Iwara, Hermes Iyele, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, and Lilian Afegbai.
