Verydarkman Calls Out Prominent Activists Over Okoya’s Sons’ Naira Abuse Case

Social media critic, Vincent Martins Otse, better known as Verydarkman (VDM), has raised a storm over the case of Chief Rasak Okoya’s sons, Raheem and Wahab Okoya, who were filmed spraying naira notes in a controversial video. The viral footage, which sparked public outrage, has led to widespread calls for accountability, with VDM at the forefront, calling out prominent figures known for their activism.

In a new video, VDM took to social media to express his frustration, accusing Nigerian activists and public figures such as Seun Kuti, Omoyele Sowore, Femi Falana, Mr Macaroni, and Deji Adeyanju of silence in the face of what he termed a clear violation of the law. He pointed out that these individuals, who are typically vocal about social injustices, have remained conspicuously mute on the matter of the Okoya brothers’ actions.

VDM questioned whether their silence was due to the Okoyas’ ethnic background, speculating that their Yoruba identity may have influenced the activists’ decision to stay quiet. “If them born any officer well for this country, make them touch that Okoya son. Them no born them well enough,” VDM declared in his video. He further stated that no police officer in the country dared to take action against Okoya’s sons, implying that the power and influence of the billionaire businessman’s family could intimidate the authorities.

The issue came to public attention after a police officer was detained for holding the naira notes on behalf of Raheem Okoya, a move that further fueled outrage. VDM also noted that the critics had expressed disappointment over Raheem Okoya’s public apology, suggesting that the apology seemed insufficient in addressing the gravity of the situation.

VDM continued his call for the Okoya brothers to face the full force of the law, stating that he would be closely monitoring the case. His impassioned video has received significant attention online, with many netizens supporting his call for justice. Some, however, have criticized VDM for focusing on what they perceive as a distraction, suggesting that Nigeria’s more pressing issues, such as economic struggles and the fuel price crisis, should take priority.

In another segment of the video, VDM also weighed in on the ongoing drama involving socialite Cubana Chiefpriest and his alleged baby mama, Helen. Offering his unsolicited advice, VDM recommended that Chiefpriest conduct a DNA test and pursue legal action if the child was proven not to be his.

The case surrounding the Okoya brothers and the subsequent reactions from public figures have ignited a broader conversation about the power dynamics in Nigeria, with many questioning whether wealth and influence allow certain individuals to evade legal consequences. As the debate continues, VDM’s bold stance highlights the ongoing tensions between activism and societal power structures.
