On December 19, 2024, Edochie shared a post on Instagram with Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, declaring their respective political ambitions.
In his post, Edochie described both himself and Seyi Tinubu as the “next governors” of Anambra and Lagos states, respectively, writing: “The next Governor of Lagos State @seyitinubu with The next Governor of Anambra State @yuledochie Sealed. THANK YOU LORD!”
The announcement quickly elicited a range of reactions from both supporters and critics. Some mocked Edochie’s political aspirations, questioning his qualifications for the role.
