The Nollywood veteran and Nigeria’s most respected actors in the industry, Olu Jacobs was born as Oludotun Jacobs on 11 July 1942 in Ogun State, Nigeria to parents Egba Alake. In 2007 he won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He was honoured with the Industry Merit Award for outstanding achievements in acting at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. There is no doubt that respected 73-years-old veteran actor has definitely paved a successful path for many actors and actresses in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

1. Olu Jacobs was born as Oludotun Jacobs on 11 July 1942 in Ogun State, Nigeria to parents Egba Alake.
2. He attended the Holy Trinity School in Kano, Nigeria. He also trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
3. He has starred in several British television series and international films including The Goodies, Til Death Us Do Part and The Tomorrow People.

5. He is married to Nollywood actress Joke Silva and they are blessed with two children.
