The veteran Nigerian actor, Prince Jide Kosoko was born on 12 January 1954 in Lagos, Nigeria to the Kosoko royal family of Lagos Island. He is one of the few Nigerian who have been able to participate both in Yoruba and English films. He has worked with prominent entertainment stars in the industry. There is no doubt that he is an authority in the film industry and a role model to many actresses and actors.

1. Prince Jide Kosoko was born on 12 January 1954 in Lagos, Nigeria to the Kosoko royal family of Lagos Island.
2. He holds a Degree in Business Administration at the Yaba College of Technology.
3. He commenced his acting career in 1964 at the age of 10-years in a television production, Makanjuola.
4. He is married to Nollywood actress, Henrietta Kosoko and Alhaja Kareemat Kosoko. They both are blessed with children and grandchildren.
5. He produced the Nollywood film titled “Asiri Nla” in 1992.
6. He has featured in several Nollywood movies of both English and Yoruba Genres. The movies include; The Figurine released in 2009, I’ll Take My Chances released in 2011, Last Flight to Abuja released in 2012 and The Department released in 2015.
7. He has worked with prominent entertainment stars like Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Sam Loco Efe, Majid Michel, OC Ukeje and Jim Ikeye to mention a few.
8. He lost his first and second wife to untimely death few years back.

10. He mentioned in an interview that the things he considers before accepting a role ranges from the quality of the scripts to the producer of the film. He is currently working on a semi-epic movie titled “Kobiowu” and it is intended to start shooting by April.
