- The Nigerian party called the All Progressives Congress has “declared that a corrupt government is worse than armed robbery.” The leader of the party explained that security goes beyond having the best Police Force and the military, adding that it involves strong economic management, which include zero tolerance for corruption as well as leadership by example.
- In Kenya, the Mandera Governor Ali Roba has issued an alert over increased movement of Al-Shabaab terror cells along the Kenya-Somalia border. Mr Roba warned that it was only a matter of time before the terrorists could find their way into other parts of the country if nothing is done to contain them.
- The Congolese Government has issued a statement through its spokesperson Mr Mende that the leaders of the youth movements, Balai Citoyen and Y en a mare are to be deported back to their countries and that their Congolese counterparts are to be kept in prison.
- In a conference on the 17th of march, the Senegalese president Macky sall has confirmed that their will be a referendum of the duration of his mandate, which could see his mandate reduced from 7 to 5 years.
