Does it matter that Trevor Noah tweeted those jokes?
Comedy is about pushing boundaries, it is about taking risks, it is also about offending and irritating.
Comedians, make us laugh and cry, they make us think and also make us remember. It is not necessarily an easy job but it is one which contributes to the our well being, because “laughter is good medicine”
So why is there so much of an uproar over trover Noah’s tweets?
Do the tweets reflect his personality?
By censoring Trevor Noah’s tweets, are we bordering a dangerous line where people will be afraid to express themselves?
These questions I can not claim to answer, but the context of the story must kept all the time. Those tweets were probably meant for a different audience, it seems that the South African public is all fine with the jokes that Trevor wrote.
In fact the responses to his jokes have been very positive in his home land. An attack on Trevor Noah could also be an attack on the south African public who have generally supported his jokes.
This very public has been his primary audience for many years. Over 2 million followers.
So, could it be that this is a campaign orchestrated by a sore looser?
We might never know
