Phyno born as Azubuike Chibuzo Nelson (9 October 1986) hails from Enugu State, Nigeria. He is a Nigerian record producer, rapper and singer who is signed to Sputnet Records Penthauze Music. The 29-years-old multi award winner has definitely broke many hearts with all that swagg. There is no doubt that the Igbo rap ambassador has brought a change to the Nigerian music scene.

1. Phyno was born on 9 October in Enugu State, Nigeria.

2. He studied Public Administration at the Institute of Management and Technology in Enugu.

3. His stage name, Phyno was given to him by a friend and it is derived from the word phenomenal.

4. He started his musical career as a producer in 2003. He relocated to Nigeria to pursue his career in music and began rapping in 2010.

5. His debut album “No Guts No Glory” features musicians like Olamide, P-square, Flavour and Timaya to name a few.

6. His single “Ghost Mode” which featured Olamide, won the Best Collaboration award at the 2012 The Headies Awards and at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

7. In March 2013, he released the single “Man of the Year” was produced by himself and also won the Best Rap Single award at the 2012 Headies Awards. The single however was banned by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation from being aired.

8. He is signed to Sputnet Records Penthauze Music.

9. Phyno has worked with musicians like Mr. Raw, Bracket, J Martins, Flavour and Timaya. He is regarded as the Igbo rap ambassador for rapping in the Igbo language.

10. In 2014, he won the Best Artiste of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards. In August 2014, he became the ambassador of Guinness Nigeria alongside Eva Alordiah and Olamide.
