Ashley Stephanie is a very talented singer, songwriter, an energetic performer, CEO of Ashley Stephanie Music. She was born on the 2nd of November to Cameroon/Nigerian parents.
While her current video, Molo Molo is still enjoying massive airplays, Stephanie who finally opened up on why she has finally decided to live in Nigeria said she is also here to promote her music and serve as an inspiration to Nigerian female entertainers.
“I am also back here to promote my music career and to motivate the women in the Nigerian music industry to do more. I also want to use this opportunity to call on Africans in the Diaspora to come back to their roots. We have put a lot in the international music world: we need to bring some of these goodies back home, that is why I am here. I have been at the Calabar carnival for fopur consecutive years, sharing same stage with top African music stars like Psquare, Awilo, among others. Americans are looking up to Africans because we have good music and fierce dance moves but there is something lacking in the African music. The males in the industry are dominating. I think it’s about time female singers came out of their shells and fight for a position too. We have so much love and respect for our male colleagues, but we also need a better share of the attention. Nigeria should expect more of me because I am here to stay. I have devoted 70 percent of myself and time to Nigeria while 30percent goes to the rest of the world,” she said.
