Nigeria Wins Silver and Bronze Medals in the 2016 Championship
The Nigeria Rowing, Canoe and Sailing team have won silver and bronze medals in the 2016 African Canoe Spirit Championships in Durban, South Africa.
This infoormation was disclosed by Bunmi Oluode, the secretary of the federation. She disclosed this from Durban in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Oluode mentioned that Favor Bewei won a silver medal in the Women’s C1 500m event, while Lilian Japhet won a bronze medal in the C2 200m event.
It was also disclosed that 21 countries are participating in the Championships, and this is also serving as the qualifier for the 2016 Olympics.
She said that the championships began on March 25, and that it would end later in the day with the Canoe Africa Confederation (CAC) and the election of new officials.
