12 Things You Can Do to Improve Your Life

Every day you are here on earth is another chance to be better than you were the day before.  This perhaps one of the most under-appreciated aspects of life.

improve life

In this 21st century, day to day activities get us carried away and we get so busy and bogged down with mundane tasks. However, there comes a time for most of us, when we embark on a quest for greater fulfillment in our lives. If you seek to continually improve your life, here are 10 things you can do everyday, starting today:

1. Get Out In Nature

You probably seriously underestimate how important this is. Being in nature reduces stress, makes you more creative, improves your memory and may even, to a large extent make you a better person.

2. Exercise

We all know how important this is, but few people do it consistently. Other than health benefits too numerous to mention, exercise makes you smarter, happier, increases your libido and makes you feel better about your body.

3. Spend Time With Friends and Family

For most of us, there aren’t many things in this world more important than the relationships we have with those we are closest to. So make it a point to spend quality time with your loved ones every single day. If they are far way, pick up the phone or send an email. Reach out to a friend or family member you haven’t spoken with in a while. Let them know you are thinking about them.

4. Say ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’ More Often

These days, it seems like we live in a “It’s all about me” world. While having good manners may be a lost art, practicing politeness daily can make life a little better for those you interact with. And this, in turn cab help improve your life. Make someone’s day by thanking them and letting them know how much you appreciate them.

5. Carve Out Some Time To Be Alone With Your Thoughts

Improving your life means cultivating positive thoughts on a regular basis. To do this, you need time to let go and recharge. Try this – Spend 5 minutes when you wake up and 5 minutes before you go to bed relaxing. Lay there and focus on taking slow, deep breaths. Let the thoughts flow through your head like clouds. Do this everyday and you will be amazed the results.

Meditation can also increase happiness, meaning in life, social support and attention span while reducing anger, anxiety, depression and fatigue. Along similar lines, prayer can make you feel better – even if you are not religious.
