What’s love got to do with it?
Dear editor,
I am a fan of your page and I enjoy reading this blog, your posts are so powerful. They inspire, they also teach. I have been preoccupied with my family life. I am married and a mother of 2 beautiful children. I love them with all my heart.
My husband and I are from different countries, we love each other but we are now facing difficult times, and the recent events have made it worse. He feels that our country ( South Africa), doesn’t welcome him and he says that he wants his children to grow up in a country where they are welcome.
We have been together for the past 10 years, I have known him for so long that I can’t even remember the time we met. He has resigned from his Job already, but I feel as if we need to stay here because the reasons which brought him to this country have not changed, now he wants to go back to the life he left behind.
We are a peace loving people but I also understand how he feels but he can’t guarantee that we will have even 50% of what we have, there in Lagos. I asked him why he is doing this and he says it is because he is “fed up”.
I will not allow my children to live in those conditions, I am thinking of taking him to court so that I can get the custody of the kids, but knowing him, this will be nasty and it will destroy us. I am lost, I can’t think, that is why I writting to you
Please help.
